Migrating to Aku Shaper Pro

With the latest release of the Aku Shaper software on Nov 4th 2009, we have introduced a number of professional features. These features require an Aku Shaper Pro License to use and are not available by default.

A few of the previously free features (such as the Board Manager and the ability to open other surfboard file formats) have been turned into Pro Features and require the purchase of a license. We're sorry to have to charge for these after giving them to you for free before, but the licensing revenue will allow us to offer better support for these features and expand on their functionality.

Step 1) Delete previous versions of the Aku Shaper software

Step 2) Upgrade to Java 6

Instructions for upgrading your copy of java can be found on the troubleshooting page as well as the download page.

Step 3) Download the latest version of Aku Shaper

You can download the latest version through the download page. An email will be sent to you with a link to the latest version of the software. Save this .jnlp file to your desktop.

Step 4) Run the software

If code opens up in a text editor instead of the application itself, you need to update Java Web Start. Instructions for doing so can be found on our troubleshooting page.

If the application opens and you can see the Pro Licensing menu, you've updated to the latest version successfully! Pat yourself on the back and go grab a beer.
